ABOUT ABBY

Abby Salois is a novelist and essayist who believes in destigmatizing suicide and mental health through storytelling. In July 2025, her unpublished novel, Wild Child, was recognized by the Black List as a “must read.”

Abby’s writing can be found in Cognoscenti, the essays and ideas section of Boston’s NPR, the blog for the national nonprofit To Write Love on Her Arms (“TWLOHA”), and other publications.

Abby is currently a student in Grub Street’s 9-month Novel Generator program, where she’s working on her second book, literary suspense set in the insular equestrian world. In 2024, she revised Wild Child as a student in the Pioneer Valley Writers’ Workshop’s 10-month novel revision intensive.

Abby serves as a board member for the nonprofit, independent news organization, The Worcester Guardian, and for the Shine Initiative, a youth mental health nonprofit. An alumni of the University of Delaware and Suffolk University Law School, she is a practicing attorney and she lives in Massachusetts with her family.
